ReBoot is coming back on Netflix on March 30th and I'm NOT happy about it!!

Image
When it was announced that ReBoot was coming back to TV I was thrilled especially with all the technological advancements we have made in the last 17 years with animation. The original ReBoot was a Canadian CGI-Animated action-adventure television series that originally aired from 1994 to 2001. I watched the show on Cartoon Network back in 1999, however the show originally aired on YTV in Canada and ABC from 1994 - 1996, then Cartoon Network from 1999 to 2002. The series follows the adventures of a Guardian named Bob and his companions Enzo and Dot Matrix and they work to keep the computer system of Mainframe safe from the viruses known as Megabyte and Hexadecimal. It was the world's first ever half-hour completely computer-animated TV series. The new reimagined, live-action/CGI-animated series, named ReBoot: The Guardian Code, was announced in 2015 and is slated to premiere on Netflix worldwide on March 30th, 2018. However excluding Canada from some odd reason. YTV will ...

Annihilation Review

Image
Annihilation is a 2018 science fiction horror film written and directed by Alex Garland that is based on a Novel of the same name by Jeff VanderMeer. The film stars Natalie Portman, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Gina Rodriguez, Tessa Thompson, Tuva Novotny, and Oscar Isaac, and follows a group of military scientists who enter "The Shimmer," a mysterious quarantined zone that is full of mutating landscapes and creatures. The movie was an interesting in it self,  however was slow in the beginning, so if you don't pay attention you wont understand what is going on. Not much is explained in the beginning except that you find out that Natalie's character Lena is a professor of cellular biology at Johns Hopkins and her husband was missing after he went on a military mission. The movie cuts in and out of Lena being at home and being in quarantine. The quarantine takes place after Lena and her crew military scientists entered "The Shimmer" and undergo a series of tri...

WHY is Iris West dressed as a Speedster

Image
If you haven't been watching any of the DC comic shows on the CW Network you should be because they are fantastic, and frankly if you ask me they are doing much better than their "big screen" counterparts except "Wonder Woman" of course. The CW is currently running 5 separate super hero TV shows on their network with new episodes releasing weekly. The CW released a image or poster ad of a coming episode of the Flash called "Run Iris Run" that is set to premier on March 13th on the CW network. The picture received a lot of back lash from viewers commenting that "Why is Iris becoming a speedster?" and others saying "This is why I stopped watching, the show is stupid now" In the show we find out that there is a multiverse full of various different versions of Earth, thus expanding the possibilities of different versions of the characters. My theory about the episodes is that the Iris we saw in the photo is from another Ea...

Black Panther Review and Movie sabotage (No Spoilers)

Image
As usual I went to see Black Panther, not one but twice already. I plan to see it again this week. The only other movie I saw more than once in the theater was "Wonder Woman". Black Panther is another Marvel Cinematic Universe installment that focuses on the superhero T'Challa. Black Panther was created by writer-editor Stan Lee and writer-artist Jack Kirby, who first appeared in Fantastic Four issue #52 in July 1966. T'Challa is king of the fictional African nation called Wakanda. In the comics and on screen Wakanda is known to be protecting the source of the most coveted metal in the universe "vibranium". This precious metal is used in all the technology clothing and buildings used in Wakanda. Black Panther is a great movie, it was directed and cut perfectly. Anyone who watches it can follow the movie and not be lost. If you have been watching all the marvel movies in the past 10 years you will understand what lead up to this movie and how it fall...

Mental Illness and School Shootings: updated

Image
I was going to write a blog on the latest school shooting that occurred in Florida last week. Instead I'm going to touch on a subject that is often put on the back burner, "Mental Illness" and incorporate these facts into the recent school shootings. For the past 9 years I have worked in a psychiatric and mental health facility. I have worked with adults and children with several different mental health disorders. I have watched countless children and teens being admitted on a daily basis. Most of them suffer from depression, anxiety and PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) mainly coming from bad parenting, mean kids at school, and self-image problems. These attacks may seem random and for no reason, however there can be many contributing factors into why a individual may commit such a violent act. The footage you will see is from a students snap chat account, this video may be disturbing to some viewers. Discretion is advised.  Video provided by New Y...

Queer Eye: The NEW Fab 5!!!

Image
The new Queer Eye premiered on Netflix on February 7th, 2018. It is a reboot of the hit Bravo series that aired in 2003. The reality show features five gay experts as they help a straight man makeover his life, focusing on wardrobe, food, lifestyle, interior decoration, and hair. The fab five includes Antoni Porowski (Food & Wine), Bobby Berk (Interior Design), Karamo Brown (Culture), Jonathan Van Ness (Grooming), and Tan France (Fashion). The series was only 8 episodes long, and I finished them in 2 days. If you plan on watching them make sure you have a box of Kleenex because each episode gets emotional and each episode touches on deep subjects that are important for society to see.  Other than the deep elements of the reality show, you will enjoy the fun each of the guys have, you will laugh and have a great time watching the fab 5 make over guys lives.  I highly recommend watching the new Queer Eye that's is streaming now on  Netflix

Martin Reboot?!?

Image
Looks like 2017 - 2018 have been the years of the "reboots" feels like creators are have either lost their touch or they just miss the years when TV was good. "Martin" is an American  sitcom  that aired for five seasons on  Fox  from August 27, 1992 to May 1, 1997. Reflecting the rising popularity of the Fox network throughout the 1990s,  Martin  was one of the network's highest-rated shows during the sitcom's run. Last week TMZ spotted Tisha Cambell-Martin, Tichina Arnold, and Martin Lawrence leaving a steak lunch in Burbank. So of curse the question was asked if they were planning to resurrect the TV sitcom Martin, due to rumors spreading around that they were in talks of bringing the show back to television. Well cast had a lot to say in the video below.  If you ask me it looks like part of the group decided to meet for lunch and possibly "discuss" probably reviving "Martin". Some might say enough with the "rebo...

Marvel's Black Panther got one BAD review!! 😱

Image
The highly anticipated Marvel Studios installment "Black Panther" hits theaters as early as February 15th. Although the reviews of the film gave its  Rotten Tomatoes score a 100%, it wasn't long before one reviewer took away "Black Panthers" perfect score. And you wouldn't believe the reason critic Ed Power who writes for the  "Irish Independent"  said about the film. The critic said "The hero did not beat up enough bad guys" Ok... I'm a fan of a lot of action in any action movie, and although I have yet to see the movie, I think that Power is missing the point of the whole movie and I question his taste. We've all learned that super hero movies have evolved from just being a "fight the bad guy" and "save the girl" type of movies. What makes all these super hero movies and TV shows more interesting and popular these says is the reality of "Yes we have these abilities, but we also have morals...

Venom Trailer released today!!!

Image
Image via google images by Screen Rant As some of you may already know I'm a big marvel fan, and in the blog you will begin to see more and more blogs about upcoming Marvel movies and TV shows among other things. The new Venom Trailer was just released into the world today, and you can view it here. Trailer provided via YouTube by Sony Pictures Entertainment. Tom Hardy is portraying the vile entity known in the Spider-Man Universe as Venom. I don't completely know whats going on in this trailer, or what the movie will bring to the franchise. I'm also still trying to figure out if we even needed a Venom movie in the first place. However as a fan of all things Marvel I will be in the theater to see this. The movie is set to release in theaters in October of this year. Movie hits theaters 10-5-8

"Charmed" CW Reboot

Image
One of my all time favorite TV series was Charmed. Charmed originally aired on the WB back in the late 90's. It it was a family oriented drama that featured 3 sisters who discover they are witches after the younger sister Phoebe moves back in to her childhood home with her sisters after their grandmother passes away and discovers a hidden family secret that would change their lives forever. Prue, Piper, and Phoebe Halliwell attempt to continue living their lives as "normal" woman witches, however after awakening themselves as the Charmed Ones they become the target of some of the most evil creatures on the planet. Beings that attempted to either kill them, steal their magic, or turn the good witches evil. This created a power struggle as the sisters soon find out that they will become the new most powerful source of good magic that the world has ever known, "The Power of Three". The sisters faced evil beings while uncovering more family secrets, and coming a...
