Emmy Rossum’s LAST “Shameless” Season

Image
Oscar-nominated actor William H. Macy stars as Frank Gallagher, a single father of six who spends much of his free time drinking at bars. The Gallagher children — led by oldest daughter Fiona (Emmy Rossum), who takes on much of the child-rearing responsibility due to her mother’s absence — manage to raise themselves in spite of Frank’s lack of parenting and unusual parenting style when he does choose to act like a father. The drama is an adaptation of the BAFTA Award-winning British show of the same name. Emmy posted a this photo on her facebook page today with a long expression of her gratitude from her role on the hit Showtime series “Shameless”. She let her fans know that this upcoming season will be her last on the show. You can read her statement below.   “It’s hard thing to put into words, feelings. But I’m going to try. This business is always an adventure, full of travel and opportunities to tell stories. Usually as an actor, every few months, you travel to a new place...

Mortality Between the Sexes

There are many biological, behavioral and environmental factors that contribute to a woman living longer than men. Most of it is how the two sexes live their lives. Men dying sooner than a woman makes sense on a biological standpoint because 105 males are born for every 100 females, it would assure that there are about the same number of men and women at reproductive ages. Even though the woman shows a longer life expectancy in almost every human society in the last decade of the 20th century, the size of the advantage varied greatly. In America, the average male life expectancy was 73.4 years, and 80.1 years for females; that’s a 6.7-year difference. Other countries the time is between 1 to 12 years. In earlier days men were exposed more to the hazards of the workplace in an industrial context, alcoholism, smoking, and road accidents. These have increased considerably during the 20th century. Other observations indicate that the growing excess male mortality in industrial countries w...

Cutting the cord, Alternative TV/Cable options

With the price of cable at an all time high, its hard to keep paying for a service that only gets more expensive over time. Comcast and Verizon are the top leading TV and internet providers in the nation. People tend to feel obligated to subscribe or sign up for a long term contract with these companies. Comcast for example charges fees to use what they call “HD Technology”. So you just got your brand new 4k TV, and now you have to pay an additional $10.99 on top of the one cable box rental of $10.99. These companies charge a service fee for basic cable at $39.99 or $49.99 or even more on some packages. So if you have internet and cable you could be paying close to $200 per month with taxes and fees. Some people are cutting the cord because they refuse to pay the absurd prices these companies charge. Im here to show you some alternative TV options. Please note you still must have an internet connection for this. First thing to do is equip your TV’s with digital antennas, you...

Net Neutrality in the US, and what this could meen for you

Net Neutrality was adopted in 2005 in the US in order to preserve and promote the evolving character of the internet as the telecommunications entered the broadband age. Net Neutrality was put into place so that internet services providers would have to treat all data on the internet equally, and not discriminate or charge differently by the user, content, website, platform, application, type of attached equipment, or method of communication. In June of 2018 a repel of the FCC rule took effect despite the U.S Senate vote to uphold the regulation. This means that all ISP’s in America can content charge the customers. Although ISP’s in America were not planning to adopt the content charge system, in other countries like Portuguese ISP’s offer smartphone contracts with monthly data limits and sells additional monthly packages for particular data services. So, if you were looking to be on social media then you would be charged a fee to use those apps if you wanted to call or video...

I usually don’t write reviews and experiences on video games often because I don’t play them to their entirety.  However, I recently received a game on my Nintendo Switch called State of Mind and it was exceptionally well made. State of Mind is a futuristic thriller game delving into transhumanism. The game explores themes of separation, disjuncture, and reunification, in a world that is torn between a dystopian material reality and a utopian virtual future. The game is developed and published by Deadalic. State of Mind is extremely cinematic, from its sweeping cutscenes, to how the story’s drama unfolds. Although the gameplay does not have much to offer, it is practically impossible not to love this dynamic adventure of Daedalic Entertainment thanks to its own style, State of Mind is able to tell a story that is worth living. The game itself uses a style of 3D animation not often used, so its most definitely a work of art. The game’s storyline unfolds base on the choices you ...

Distracted Driving and Vehicle Safety

In the age of mobile technology, devices for personal use and in vehicles. Distracted driving has become more common with today’s drivers. New vehicles are being sold with multiple in-dash screens with navigation, phone connectivity, environment and vehicle status. These things take the eyes of the driver away from the road more often than usual. Although these technological advancements are helpful in the vehicle they are being taken advantage of by the driver while the vehicle is in motion. Distracted driving is any activity that diverts attention from driving, this includes talking, texting, eating, and drinking. Anything that briefly takes the drivers attention away from the road is a hazard to other drivers. Even the most skilled driver can easily make one mistake and cause an accident. Since more technology has been introduced into vehicles this has only increased the chances that a driver is distracted and not paying attention to the road. In some vehicles video files can be p...

Marvel Studios wants James Gunn back, Kevin Feige in talks with Disney

Image
The ongoing developing news regarding James Gunn directing Guardians of the Galaxy 3 and continue working for Marvel Studios and Disney is picking up some steam. President of Marvel Studios has spoken about the firing of James Gunn and according to reports from THR, Kevin was “livid” when he found one of his top producers and director James Gunn had been fired by Disney after the smear campaign ran by political commentator Mike Cornovich exposed decade-old “poor taste” tweets by Gunn. Since James Gunn was fired from Disney, this made him a big target for other studios to pursue him to either write or direct their movies. The latest news is that DC Films and Warner Brothers Studios are trying to book Gunn for their future films. It seems this news has triggered Marvel Studios to fight for their beloved Director. After Disney fired James, they received instant backlash from over 300K fans, the cast of GOTG, and a few other friends and family of Gunn. However, this outpour of support d...

Tupac cold case reopened

As most unsolved cases go, it will be years before investigators find out who did the deed. Almost 22 years ago Tupac was murdered in a drive-by shooting, where Pac later died in a hospital. Former gang member Duane K. Davis, aka Keffe D. admitted to being in the driver of the car that contained Tupac’s murderer. His confession comes from a USA network interview for Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and The Notorious B.I.G During the interview, Davis also claimed he was in the vehicle with two other southside crips, and his cousin Orlando “Baby Lane” Anderson who was in the back seat. An assertion was also made during BET’s Death Row Chronicles, “It just came from the back seat” Davis said in the Chronicles. “People have been pursuing me for 20 years, I’m coming out now because I have cancer and I have nothing else to lose. All I care about now is the truth” Davis said in the interview. Tupac’s murder has gone unsolved for almost 22 years. There has been speculation to tie in ...
